P4 at Sports Day

Everyone in P4 had great fun at our first ever whole school sports day.  The races were great fun and it was lovely to see so many parents and friends on the side to give us support.

Aaron Hepburn – one to watch!

One to watch! On Wednesday 3rd of June Aaron Hepburn (P4) took part in a Great Britian Tennis Training Day at Bolton.  Along with 19 other boys from Scotland, Wales and the North of England he participated in a day consisting of physical tests and other tennis related drills.  Greg Rusdeski, who is part of the Lawn Tennis Association’s Talent Team, was in attendance.  Aaron has been identified by the LTA as a Aegon Futurestar! – well done Aaron – we will al be watching closely.

The Highlander

The Highlander visits P4Recently all primary 4 children were visited by The Highlander.  The Highlander is an actor called Ray Owens who enacts life in Scotland during the time of the Battle of Culloden.  He dresses himself, and some “willing participants!” up in clothing of the period.  He brought along some weapons similar to those used by the Jacobites and many of us had a chance to look at them closely.

A Fair Day at Fairburn

Be brave Ben!Primary 4/5C and 5/6D have been busy creating and designing a holiday adventure camp as their project.  They had a fabulous day experiencing some adventures on offer at Fairburn Activity Centre.

Football

Here’s a fantastic poem written by Zak in P5/6:

  • Football is my favourite sport
  • It’s nothing like a tennis court
  • The pitch is big with goals each side
  • It’s about twenty metres wide
  • Man United all the way
  • I would lik to see them play
  • The players are so very good
  • And they’re always in the mood
  • I play football with my mates
  • They meet me at the park gates
  • Then we have a match
  • On the big, old grassy patch

On Wednesday 27th May, P7 attended the Choices for Life concert in Inverness. Amongst the highlights were performances by The McDonald Brothers, Keith Jack and the Nairn Academy choir. Brandon was the lucky winner of a mini hi-fi presented by Tesco; doubly lucky as we should have attended the show on Tuesday but the bus didn’t turn up and he had been absent that day! Thanks again to our parent helpers Mrs Kerr & Mrs Rodgers.

Emily Goes to Edinburgh

Emily Kerr, Rodney and her friends went to Edinburgh to celebrate her success in a national writing competition organised by the National Galleries of Scotland. Emily’s story, based on the woodcutting Snow & Hare, was placed 4th out of 927 entries. The girls had a great day in Edinburgh. Well done Emily!!!
