As well as visiting Inverness Museum on 2nd October, P5 were given a tour of the Inverness Caley Thistle stadium by community coach, Craig. A great time was had by all on both visits. Many thanks to our parents who helped make the day a big success.
On Friday 2nd October P5 visited a Homecoming Scotland exhibition held at Inverness Museum. While there, they were given a talk about emigration from Scotland.
On Wednesday 3rd of June Aaron Hepburn (P4) took part in a Great Britian Tennis Training Day at Bolton. Along with 19 other boys from Scotland, Wales and the North of England he participated in a day consisting of physical tests and other tennis related drills. Greg Rusdeski, who is part of the Lawn Tennis Association’s Talent Team, was in attendance. Aaron has been identified by the LTA as a Aegon Futurestar! – well done Aaron – we will al be watching closely.
Recently all primary 4 children were visited by The Highlander. The Highlander is an actor called Ray Owens who enacts life in Scotland during the time of the Battle of Culloden. He dresses himself, and some “willing participants!” up in clothing of the period. He brought along some weapons similar to those used by the Jacobites and many of us had a chance to look at them closely.
Here’s a fantastic poem written by Zak in P5/6:
On Wednesday 27th May, P7 attended the Choices for Life concert in Inverness. Amongst the highlights were performances by The McDonald Brothers, Keith Jack and the Nairn Academy choir. Brandon was the lucky winner of a mini hi-fi presented by Tesco; doubly lucky as we should have attended the show on Tuesday but the bus didn’t turn up and he had been absent that day! Thanks again to our parent helpers Mrs Kerr & Mrs Rodgers.
Emily Kerr, Rodney and her friends went to Edinburgh to celebrate her success in a national writing competition organised by the National Galleries of Scotland. Emily’s story, based on the woodcutting Snow & Hare, was placed 4th out of 927 entries. The girls had a great day in Edinburgh. Well done Emily!!!
